Maybe 2 grand if they have a pedigree of some kind.


Or you can do what I did. Marry a librarian. Probably cheaper to hire someone though.

The book is about C-7 Low Voltage and the individual is a Licensed C-7 Low Voltage Contractor

Then I would think you will need to pay quite a bit more. That is slow reading that requires careful, focused attention. 566 pages? All words? You might want to think about five figures.

I agree. I was paid five figures for a vaguely similar job, updating a book related to historical architecture.

When something is that technical, you need an editor/proofreader who has some familiarity with the subject, or meanings can be messed up. That also means you'll have to pay more for a good one.
