Hi All,
For some reason, since I discovered blogging, I've had the incredible urge to anonymously (because of my profession) vent, air my dirty laundry, comment on culture, pop culture, etc. etc., but I haven't found the right blogging platform. Diaryland seemed sort of "out," along with LiveJournal, while Wordpress is TOO big (and complicated). I don't have a niche subject, I don't promote myself, and I know it's hard to amass a following just writing random blogs, but I think I could do it if I found the right site. (Knowing that someone is reading my stuff is my greatest motivator to continue writing).
Does anyone have a recommendation for a blogging site that is neither too large nor too small? I know people who made very dear friends on Diaryland way back when and they were writing only about their personal lives. While I'm not necessarily looking to make friends, I do want some readers. Though I've written a lot, I'm still sort of a novice at blogging. Suggestions? (Please pardon any spelling/grammatical errors; it has been a long day)!
Thanks

How about blogging right here on City-Data? I know they have a blog feature, but I don't know how it compares to other sites you've looked into. Since you already have an account, it should be relatively painless to set up.

I have never posted a blog, but I did click a few links to see what the interface looked like. It looked pretty simple and appeared easy to do.

How about blogger? It has its quirks, like posting pictures is a royal pain, but it's very easy to post and edit.

I also second Blogger. Also, because it's owned by Google, your blog will be able to listed in the search engines easier than if you were using a non-authoritative blog. Also, I personally use Tumblr.com. The community on Tumblr is FANTASTIC and it's extremely easy to get set up. Not to mention that the Tumblr themes are really beautiful.

I understand about Wordpress. Although it's time consuming and has a rather large learning curve, I've found it to be one of the most thorough blog platforms in terms of features (called plug-ins). But I think for you, just try out Tumblr. I have three blogs on Tumblr.

I've used and liked Blogger. I have a lot of friends and acquaintances who like Wordpress too.
