Folks... This ain't about the wind... It's about the wonderful people I met in Wyoming. And on that point I'm sticking to my guns! :-)

You've got that right! Friendliest folks around, in my experience.

Totally agree, the people and state are wonderful. I point out the WIND because it has soured many who made the move TO Cheyenne to the point that they can't wait to move FROM Cheyenne. Reality, no more, no less.

It's an adventure every time you open your car door.
Not to mention the adventure of making SURE you hang on to the gas pump handle if you're facing the 'wrong' way at the gas station! I've seen unwary WY visitors stick the handle in and walk away only to have the gushing gas everywhere because it blew out of the car's gas tank. I saw that several times in Casper at the Flying J on I-25! And, never, never open your car door without being aware that it very well may blow open so hard that it'll crash into whatever is beside your car or smush you as it blows shut just as you're exiting your car!

Yeah, 15 mile mph in WY just about anywhere in January is a pipe dream!! In fact, 15 mph wind anywhere in WY during any month is pretty much a pipe dream!
