Where do people enjoy viewing and buying art in Wyoming? Are there places where an itinerant landscape artist could come in the summer and display what I've painted the rest of the year and sell well to local folks or tourists? I love the beauty of Wyoming and would love to find a campground that has friendly people and opportunities to paint as well. Thanks!

My friend is a landscape artist. She frequently displays her art at Bradford Brinton, the Nicoli art museum down in Casper, and the Yellowstone Museum up in Billings. She is well known and her sales occur because people see her art at the galleries. She has also sold her work on consignment at the foothills gallery in Sheridan.

I imagine you could set up a booth in Cheyenne during Frontier Days and have the audience of those that are there for the festivities. It's basically just a week, though, not all summer that would be your prime opportunity. You'd have to check with the organizers of Frontier Days to see about the options for setting up a booth.

In addition, you could also tour the county fairs across the state and set up booths there, too. I don't know how well this would work for you, but hopefully it gives you a few options.

There used to be the Nicholasian (don't know if spelled right) Art Musuem in casper. They like to present the artists of wyoming. And try to do a good job of it. There are a few times a year in Casper that have Wyoming artists exhibeting their works. To the public.
Cody has alot of places that have local artists.
