I may be relocating to the Cheyenne area. My job will require a heavy duty 4x4 and that is not an issue. My wife/son will need transportation for daily activities. I am coming from the Southeastern portion of the U.S. and I have seen snow a total of 5 times in 30 years in my current city.

Is a mid-size sedan going to be ok throughout the year in Cheyenne? Should I have them in something bigger like a SUV or smaller truck?

Just about any mid-size sedan will do just fine year 'round in Cheyenne. Unless you are traveling out of town on unimproved roads during the winter or mud season months where a 4x4 SUV may be needed, FWD cars do very well.

FWIW, Subaru's are very popular around here ... with AWD standard.
