Me too! I have a day trip, but wouldn't mind having a slow trip home if it means everyone is getting some snow!

Sounds like we won't be getting much accumulation in the Cody/Meeteetse area. It has been snowing lightly since I got to school in Meeteetse this morning, but it's very wet, just a little sticking to the grass. If it were warm enough I would love for it to rain for days!

Staying home to get livestock into the barns and shelters. Moved a few day's supply of hay into the barns.

Was working on getting the pivot irrigation system running, but am putting that off for a few days.

Sure hoping to see a lot of moisture here in SE WY per the forecasts. Looking at our pastures, they're not breaking dormancy and the ground is dry. All the sections of dryland wheat pastures around us are stunted and showing no more than 25% green anywhere. We're in an extreme drought area right now and every bit of moisture is needed to break this cycle.

Hopefully, you'll have a pleasant surprise when you get to Cody. They're calling for 4+ inches now.The South Fork was getting hammered while I was out there and you can't see any of the mountains because of the snow coming down. It's not sticking to my road, but it was sticking on the South Fork and out the Yellowstone Hwy. My yard's covered now.

This is making marathon training more complicated (I guess running in the elements is supposed to toughen you up though, right?)

I don't mind a little precipitation, I just get sick of the inconsistency of it. Mother nature sure likes to screw with me by making it 60 degrees one week, then less than half of that the next week.

Thanks for the update! I'm sure the roads coming home will be wet, there's enough traffic & it's warm enough that it shouldn't be sticking too bad. I'm the rider, not the driver, this week.....I kind of like driving when the roads are bad The same here as earlier, still snowing lightly, but wet and just sticking some on the grass. Concrete & roads are wet.

Only a slight 'skiff' on the ground here (20mi outside of Gillette) skies are bright, temps dropping (23 outside the window right now)...we'll see what happens, but I doubt my phone'll be ringin' anytime soon with any short-term haying/irrigation ranch-jobs...my guess is this'll be the last-blast of precip for awhile; nothing but thunder-boomers and dry lightning...more fires, idiot-tourists ignoring open-fire bans and tossing cigarettes out the window, etc...I guess it keeps the economy going.

The Winter Storm Warning has now been upgraded to most of the state. Earlier it was just the South West.
