Theres a good possibility that I'll be moving to somewhere in Wyoming by April. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how long I would have to live in Wyoming before I can pay the In-State-Tuition for college credits. Thanks.

For Sheridan College, the tuition fee schedule can be found here. Sheridan College » Tuition and Fees 2013-2014

Sheridan and Gillette, the Northern Wyoming Colleges, are both 2 year + colleges. They are classified as 2 year colleges, but I have found many courses that you can take towards a 4 year degree. But, Laramie, is the only true 4 year college in the state. There are several other colleges in the state, but I am not up to speed on them, so hopefully others will chime in.

Pretty sure it's 1 year in Every state. I know for hunting and fishing it's 1 year for WY (unless you're military).

But, if you can't dig up the info online, call one of the colleges and ask for their admissions office. CWC (which has branches in several towns but is based out of Riverton) is another community college, FWIW.

Knew a lot of out of state kids when I went to college would stay and get a summer job. The next year they would get Wyoming hunting and Fishing License. But to qualify for instate tuition they had to set out of college for a year .

It also depends on what state you are moving from. There are some surrounding states that have deals where they allow those from the states involved to get in-state tuition. So if you are coming from one of those states there is no waiting.

It is also possible certain classes are exempt from Out-of-state tuition (Summer terms often are exempt), so... personally, I would come / transfer license and voting as soon as possible, THEN take online classes till you can satisfy residency requirements. Both UT and MT schools (and possibly WY) have excellent offerings of online classes.

If you plan to transfer to a 4 yr or another program in another state... get a transfer contract UP FRONT... (I.e. define which classes they will accept BEFORE you spend the time and money taking them).

There are likely MINIMUM number of credits that you will need to take from the particular school that delivers your degree / graduation.

Here's the University of Wyoming information on this... Application for Residency | Admissions | University of Wyoming

Bottom line is: you must be a permanent resident for at least a year to qualify.
