Was just looking through the internet and came across a thread about ordering the 2014 Old Farmer's Almanac.
Just wondering if anyone still orders the Old Farmer's Almanac. I know now days you can look up weather on the internet, and other sources.
My uncle use to have one every year on his farm out of Vancouver Washington in the 1960's and 1970's.
I use to see it on the table every summer when went to visit for the summer, and to help during alfalfa harvesting season.

Good to know EH. I read where the Farmer's Almanac is still 80% correct, for long range planning. Pretty good when you consider how automated the weather is now days with Satellites feeds, and weather projections.

Through the years, they have gotten pretty general in their projections. I remember as a kid that you could look up say July 27th and it seemed like it would tell you pretty close, like, 24-28 mostly cloudy some rain. It's almost getting so bad that they say, "July-August, Hot and some places hotter than normal with some cooler." hahaha They don't seem to pin it down like they used to. However, their puzzles, tips and planting ideas are always good.

Default Farmer's Almanac

EH. I just read through the Farmer's Almanac on line. Read through the tips and planting ideas have to agree. Real good information about anything you might want to know about planting. Even ran across a tip about cleaning the bathroom shower using Vinegar and backing soda. Instead ajax or comet. Also recommended using bourbon. Don't think i would want to waste good bourbon ha,ha,ha.
Lots of other good information.

The Farmers' Almanac and the Old Farmer's Almanac are two different publications. Many other similar almanacs have appeared in this country and others over the years.
