The Associated Press article goes on to say:

"it was straight line winds of 50 mph" that "caused RV's to topple over and cars to be overturned" and "tree branches to be broken off". "Only two people were hurt in the 30 RV's that were toppled".

Winds of this strength are a newsworthy event in the region.

OTOH, here in much of WY, that's not much more than a breezy day, and we've got gusts in those winds which batter objects about. I've been dealing with similar winds throughout the recent winter frontal passages

That kinda' sums up the difference which so few folk from out of the rocky mountain area don't understand ... the severity of the climate here. When we talk about these strong winds and vehicles being blown over or off the road, they are due to these types of wind velocities which frequently show up here.

and they're not "newsworthy" events here ... sometimes vehicles get blown off the road, sometimes property damage occurs, and life goes on ... even when the winds are far stronger than this range.
