I have an older map which shows Clareton in the vacinity of Newcastle. But there is no info here on CD. When I do a web search, it frequently comes up as a "historical" town. What does that mean??? Ghost town??

other than this being a site in an extractive industry area ...

there's not much "there" there.

Google earth shows a few roads, some farming activity, and there's a registered airstrip there, but there's no incorporated town. From what shows today from the air, I don't believe that there was ever a developed town there.

Clareton is still shown just off Road 450 on the State Highway map issued by the State of Wyoming.

Yup. Not much there. A few oil wells here and there, and a couple more buildings north of this image extract. Not much evidence of recent activity, based on the satellite image. The center building is down and just a pile of sticks. The easternmost building is ready to fall over. West building doesn't look all that bad, except for missing part of its roof.

The three buildings in the satellite image show in the topographic map extract. The westernmost building is right under the "n" in Clareton. The other two to the right.

Yup.. a few of the juiced up pics, and it's all over the net, do reference it's location as Clareton, most say near Newcastle tho. Cool vid for sure but the still image making all the new media FB pagers is definately juiced up by HDR software.
