An August 1200 mile sleigh Ride. Picked The Sleigh up in Jackson from the Good Doctors place Spent the night in Riverton doing a few things. Unloaded the cutter at the Big Barn on the DD Ranch at Devils Tower in a down pour Friday night. Saturday night it was sold in Auction to Cynthia, and she asked me to take it back to Star Valley, so loaded again during a rain storm. Sunday Rex and I drove down to Laramie, I took a nap then went across the bottom and up the west side of Wyoming back to Star Valley. This morning Sue and I unloaded up at Cynthia's place the trip odometer said 1200 miles

Glad after all that driving and rain. The sleigh didn't get wet! Looks like the blue tarp did its job.

Sweet looking cutter Jody.

If you have ever been on my website, you have seen the 4 passenger sleigh that I am riding back seat in. We sold it at auction up at the annual sale in Bowman North Dakota. We (neighbor and me) spend all winter rebuilding horse drawn stuff, sleighs, surreys, sleds, wagons, etc... Then we take them to auction and use that money to take trips during the summer. The trips are by team and whatever we use at the time. Last trip was with a sheep wagon, harnessed here in Wyoming and 2475 miles later were in Skagway Alaska.

The latest is we bought a chassis from the Ahmish in Ohio. Nice chassis with hydraulic brakes all the way around and bolster springs for a nice ride. So far we have a flatbed completed and we are adding sides and will put a canvas top stretched over bows. This wagon will give a bit more room than the sheep wagon. Of course, we rebuilt the sheep wagon so it had a queen size bed, slide out table that would seat 4, stove to cook on, ports potty, Honda generator, GPS system and enclosed it tight enough to keep those Canadian Skeeter's out. ;-)
