People who are trying to do good for their families and the planet by living a simple life based on traditional skills are facing yet another assault. Artisanal soap makers say new regulations, proposed by Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-California) and Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine), will put them out of business. Many soap makers are rural “kitchen table” operations that rely on the income to fund their simple living lifestyle. Some use milk from goats they raise and ingredients they harvest from the land.

I've always said. The more the government is involved in, and regulate. Everything can and will get messed up!!
There are more important problems to solved than worry about Artisan Soap!!
Thanks for the post Jody.

I read a little about this today. I know it means little but fiensteins bill is for those that make $100,000 or more per year. However if the bill gets passed it will be just a matter of time that if you make one bar of soap you'll get taxed to death. I wonder if the war on soap is related to the idea of people living off the grid and being fully dependent on themselves instead of the government. Same people designing FEMA camps no doubt.

Sounds like a way for the federal government to protect the existing soap and cosmetic companies from any possible threat to their profits.

Them that has, gets more. Them that have a lot keeps anyone else from getting any.
