Well Saturday Oct 1st started as a day trip to Yellowstone. Hike around Old Faithfull , got a video of two tree squirrels chasing each other around a tree. picnic was by the Madison River . rain showers so hot soup and some cheese and fruit. Anybody remember the Beef for dinner ad about the Manhattan Skyline. Well about 5 PM Sue and I had a room in Belgrade Mt. 6PM we were at Sir Scotts Oasis in Manhattan for a Steak Dinner... No reservation so we end up eating in the bar.... Good Steak!!!. Home today coming back thru the north gate, picnic stated with sun shine, then umbrella rain, hail , drizzle , finished with hot chocolate.... oh there was no over nite bag had to buy tooth brush, contact case, solution last night.

Funny how the weather changes so quickly there. It's weird for us because where we live it's just hot or fog

My husband is renting a cabin in Hoback. He said it was nice and sunny out today, so he decided to drive into Jackson to get a small hike in. By the time he got to Jackson he said there were dark storm clouds and it looked like rain, which i guess there when it rains it pours. So he checks his mail, returns his Redbox movie, talked to me on the phone for a bit, next thing he knows it was hailing!! He went back to his cabin. No hike for him today lol.

He said he's seen more rain in the past month than he's seen in years total living in Fresno. I told him "You mean I have to learn how to drive in snow and the rain too?!"😉

Great pics and video Jody! Looks like a nice picnic spread you have there. Were the elk in someone's yard?

When we visited Yellowstone NP last year there was a herd of elk living around the hotel at Mammoth Hot Springs. The rangers did the best they could keeping the visitors from trying to pet the cute little deer. That buck was far from little.
