My husband has spent the past couple weeks in Evanston, he's already started the job. I have a job I do from home so I can take it with me (transcription). I've already read another post where someone said don't move there because of the Mormons (thought that was funny because my husband is excited that he can get a keg). Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone knew about rentals in the area. We don't have the credit to buy, but we have an excellent rental history. (Our current landlord is an older woman and she started to cry when we told her we were moving. We've been there for over 2 years.) We've considered maybe having to do a lease-option or owner financing on a home, but it will be tough because of our credit. Our monthly income is about $2,500 (this is before the bonuses that we each earn at our jobs). We're looking for somewhere with at least 3 bedrooms and a garage. Any help would be much appreciated!!!

(I've googled for rentals a TON and it doesn't seem like there is any online for Evanston.)

You should have your husband locate housing for you before you move. Since you are looking for 3 bedrooms I am guessing you have kids. It is one thing for a couple to hole up in a hotel room for awhile and another when you have kids school age.

There may not be any place for rent in Evanston. I know nothing about Evanston, but in the Rawlins area rent would run you $800-$1000 and from what I hear there is nothing available.

Did a little research and found that there are a lot of homes on market from 120000 an down. This is very interesting and even though your credit rating is not the best you and family probably stand a good chance at rent with option to buy. Gross income is likely to go up? I think you have a good plan- stick it out a year and join some local groups at school etc. stay out of trouble an you got a great chance at a new start in old wyo.
