Is there a community orchestra in Cody? I see there is a professional orchestra, the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra. Are there other orchestras as well? What are your impressions of the WSO? There was no audition information on the WSO website. I'd like to know the level of accomplishment expected to be able to play in their orchestra.

There are people all over the state who play in small groups near their homes and/or who travel to play with larger groups. And the community colleges around the state are also good resources for finding other musicians. With our small population, the community college groups aren't always limited to enrolled students.

Thanks for the tips, folks. Currently I'm playing cello in an orchestra in Ohio, and also in a string quartet. We're considering a move to Wyoming and will be coming out there this fall to look around. I would very much like to play cello with an orchestra if we move there. I also play Irish flutes and concert flute and have an arsenal of recorders. :-)
