Sexist? Good citizens of Wyoming . . . don't give in to the faculty. Can't say for sure, but I'd bet that most of them do not hail from the "Equality State", and thereby do not understand Wyoming culture. Don't they know that Wyoming was the first territory, and the first state, to grant universal suffrage? Don't let the "carpetbaggers" change your ethics and culture.

Well said. The assistant prof making a big deal out of it is from back east. A gender studies major type.
Big surprise, eh. Would be nice to see the U not give in....already spent some dough putting it together.

Sometimes wonder how did we all get by before started having a hissy fit over every little thing?

I'm female and am not offended in the slightest. This professor is proving the point - the world absolutely DOES need more cowboys!

Me'thinks those fair-skinned, milquetoast 'gender studies' types are in need of the same re-education treatment given Malcolm McDowell (in Kubricks 'A Clockwork Orange') but instead of anti-ultra-violence 'viddys' the doctors should loop endless clips of Duluth Trading Co. (ie: "GET A PAIR !") TV-commercials...lol

U-Dub trustees voted unanimously yesterday to adopt the new slogan. Maybe a win/win ahead....Wyo gets more "cowboys" and some idiot profs with their gender studies degrees realize this was never their happy place and go back east where they came from.

I am female and the slogan doesn't offend me in the slightest. I'm hopeful that both of my girls will attend the University of Wyoming. To me the slogan isn't about a gender, but rather about how a person behaves, how they treat others, what they stand for, etc. I'm glad that they are able to keep the slogan.
