Hello Wyoming folks,

My wife and I live in Vermont having moved here from the Reno area a few years ago. We are horse oriented and find that for a number of reasons this is not the place for us.
We are considering the Rapid City, SD area and the Black Hills, but find that jobs are scarce and although housing is not unreasonable, buying horse property with any acreage is pretty spendy.

We have heard good things about Wyoming and Cheyenne in particular. We both need to get back to the west and the lifestyle we're most comfortable with.
Having said that, are there jobs in Cheyenne (wife is a technical writer with military exp) and is there affordable horse property in the area?

Suggestions on other areas for consideration would be appreciated.

land east of rapid city isnt too spendy, the southern end of the blackhills arent priced real high either or just north of the blackhills from belle fouche north for that matter.cheyenne area likely has the most affordable horse property while being close to a fairly large city in wyoming.
