Which is why people use Apple Pay and those types of payment processes. It uses a series of numbers not even associated with your credit card number and is some of the safest forms of payment. I personally use a lot of cash for payments but if choosing to use electronic payment, this form is much more secure than using a credit card directly.

I don’t trust Apple with control of my money. We give too much power over us and our money away to these tech companies and at some point everyone will realize it when it’s too late. No thanks, I’ll keep using cash or card and if the establishment doesn’t take either of them then they don’t need my money.

They actually wouldn't have control of "your" money, just the credit card company's. Unless of course you used a debit card, which I advise against doing anyway. Debit cards give direct access to "your" funds versus a credit card only giving them access to the credit card company's. Much easier to dispute charges to your credit card vs your debit card. The bank will usually withhold your funds until the issue is resolved with your debit card purchase but the credit card company will usually hold the "debt" themselves until resolved. But your concerns are not without merit.

I know how it works but thanks for providing the thread with an explanation. You missed my point but that’s ok. All I’ll say is they will have control of your money if they decide they won’t allow you to purchase something or allow the vendor to sell you something they’ll disagree with you acquiring. They’ll most definitely have control over your money, or more correctly your ability to use it. I’m not going to get in to politics but that where this is headed so I digress.
