The advantage is the hydrogen it will produce for fuel cells. I happen to believe fuel cells are better in rural areas and EV for urban areas. Only problem is we need power where power is needed... and WY doesn't need power.

He can want whatever he wants but the initial process takes a decade or more. That won't meet the 2030 deadline and won't fit the green agenda either.

^ This. I’ve been a huge fan of hydrogen. If we could work out how to pull hydrogen from the air on a small scale we could have all the wonderful benefits of internal combustion with the added bonus of water vapor coming out the exhaust. This is the tech big oil direct want to ever see the light of day.

Here is a good video of the relative inefficiency of using hydrogen for an internal combustion engine; with the efficency being in the 25-30% range at best, just like for a gasoline engine. With the complexity and expense of producing a lot of hydrogen means the whole process of using hydrogen, from water to hydrogen fuel, and then to use has some string inefficiencies, and the use in an IC engine just makes the whole process even more inefficient.

I agree, which is why we need to do more R&D to better refine the process. It’s something that isnt really even being done and that’s a shame. I’m a firm believer that it would be a good alternative to petrol and electricity. Let the market decide what they want to use. We NEED legit alternatives.
