How do you like Thermopolis? What in your opinion are the pros and cons for a family with young school age children? Thanks!

I've never lived in Thermopolis and never thought seriously about moving there, but since you asked, I recall my wife and I talking about how it might be a nice little town in which to live. It's sorta quaint and laid-back, kinda like small towns in the midwest. It is a nice little community -- great river for floating/fly fishing, nice golf course, nice city park, not too far from Casper or Billings for shopping nor from mountains for recreation.

Jobs are more scarce than before in Jackson, but rentals are more available. They will still be expensive by comparison to everyplace else in the state, though. Jobs are easy to get in energy boom towns, but housing is harder to find.

I would think that if four guys would get together and rent a two-bedroom apartment and work lots of overtime in some boom town, they could save a lot of money each and then make a start someplace else when the boom busts.
