Hi,

I am moving to Sheridan in March and I am looking for a place to rent. So far rental listings seem impossible to find and the local real estate people I have contacted have not helped. So now I am looking at apartments and was hoping to get some suggestions of affordable, well-maintained apartments in nice areas. Any ideas?

Apartments in Sheridan;

Furnished didn't give address. 2 Studio. $300. utils were furnished.

unfurnishe loft apartment on main. $550 a month. Didn't mention utils but in those lofts it usually is. 307-673-0503. no smoking, no pets.

several motels have went to appartments, do you want some of those? They are usually a little costly.

I am on my second week of a 2 week online subscription to the Sheridan Press Classifieds.

My suggestion if you can afford it is to get a 2 month subscription, because on www.thesheridanpress.com they only update their classifieds once a week, and by the time they are updated the ads are usually no longer valid, not always but sometimes..

My husband and I will be moving next week.. to Sheridan from OR.

I literally searched for months... I called every realtor in town. I had one that really helped me at the end.. She was a life saver. But I had to not completely rely on her, and investigate on my own as well..

I didn't think to get an online subscription till a week or two ago..

But housing is so tight that every single apartment complex I called has a waiting list.. what you could do is live in a motel for a month get on a list or several lists and actively pursue find a place to live once you move there, that was gonna be our plan B if we couldn't find a place to rent.

If you are interested in commuting you can look at the Buffalo Bulletin and see what their classifieds have, I know I saw a 2 bedroom house with a garage for rent in the 500 dollar range a month, and there are some apartments available in Buffalo I think also..

Are you single? or do you have a family?

I talked to a guy that was going to rent out some loft apartments on main st. in Sheridan.

I would call a either Century 21, Carrol Realty, and they have people that deal with property management that can keep their eye out.

My realtor called me every day with whatever she had or didn't have..

Thanks for the information. I will check into some of the places you mentioned. I was actually looking for a 2 bedroom place but they seem scarce and the whole housing market is scaring me. I will check on Buffalo, too.

I took your advice and subscribed to the paper....takes 4 days to process though. But I did call about the 2 apts...one the guys just rented and the other they showed that morning. Seems like it is a race to get real estate in Sheridan. Thanks again for you help!!

You got that right, it literally is a race to rent a place... they go like hotcakes..
