There used to be a company located in Lovell,Wy. They sold these ultra informative maps of the state. They were in certain quadrants like the BLM maps and had trails, roads, some farms and ranches, private and public land, told what fish were in the streams and lakes, where windmills, mines, quarrys were. I had all the maps and gave them to my dad when I left for TN. He can't find them now. And I can't find them online or in stores here in Casper. Can anyone help. It sure could tell some sweet fishing spots in out of the way places.
These were just like the BLM maps, and were used only for a general reference. But I once was saved, maybe even my life. From a vehicle going off the road in winter. Buy finding on the map a ranchouse about two miles as the crow flied over some large hills. The ranch was there and had people.
Another man I know was also helped when his hunting buddy broke an ankle and lost keys to the truck hobbling back to it. With almost 18 inches of snow as cover they found a close road and flagged a car down.

I have a similar "gazetteer" of Wyoming maps (published way before DeLorme coined the phrase) called the "Wyoming Sportsmen & Recreation Guide." It, too, was based on the BLM quads, and was even indexed by them. It was published by Wyoming Sportsmen, Inc. in Cody, Wyoming. The copy I have I purchased back in the mid 1980's.
