I'm looking for horseback riding in southern WY (Cheyenne or Laramie) where horses are provided since we don't have our own. My sister (age 23) is coming to town and she loves riding horses We would prefer not just a walking guided tour..something a lil' more adventous would be best.

There are several stable/barn owners in the area that may be able to accomodate you.

When are you planning her visit? If it's in the near term, it may be a little too soon to be up in the hills with all the snow and/or very wet ground.

Your skill levels/experience/confidence will be very important to getting "hooked up" with the right operation for you, especially if you want more challenging riding than just a "walking tour".

You may want to contact the equine program at LCCC and find out if there's some folks they know with horses and property to ride ... not through the school, but the private owners they know who have horses available.

Similarly, you may contact the equine program at UWyo in Laramie, with the same inquiry. They are very closely associated with wonderful people like Ann Mears/Mears Morgans just down the road from their facilities ... There may be a lot of possible horses available there, from Mears, which has a breeding program/horses for sale, and a wonderful property to ride on, with streams, pastures, meadows, tree'd areas, indoor and outdoor arenas. If you like Morgans as much as I do, they have some of the best honest riding working Morgan's around for your trail pleasure.
