I am going to be applying for a job in Pavillion WY. I was just looking for some information on the area, what is like living their and so on. I am 23 and am wondering if I would deeply regret leaving where I am at, and being stuck in some little town with no one to talk to. I am from a small town myself, so the population size doesn't bother me. I have researched as much as I can about this town, but some insiders information could really help me out.

You may not have to live there. Riverton isn't too far away. Might be something to think about.

I'll second Grill God's motion.. Riverton is larger and more of a place that a 23 yr old might be able to find friends and places to hang out. Plus you'd be more likely to find housing in Riverton. Roughly 25 miles between the two.

That being said, that area of Wyoming is probably my favourite! I lived in Lander (23 miles from Riverton) when I was in my 20's and loved it. There are a lot of outdoor activities to do within a 50 mile radius, and the views of the mountains can't be beat (imho)

Good luck with your decision, but I would suggest that you take a trip out there first before committing to anything.

Out of curiosity, what is the job in Pavillion? and where are you living now?

don't do it.
the town is ran by the maintance man who doesn't even live in town. but if you become freindly with him you can have all the pipe, and back hoe survices you want. they are also the highest in taxes (riveraton ranger) but if you paid the maintanceman over 20 an hour (that would be if he worked a full 40 hour-which he don't) also the DEQ is after them about the sewer(it stinks to high heaven in the summer- so forget the walk around town (plus if they don't like you and you walk around town they will take you to court on stalking) the town lawyer does exacly like the maintance man tells the mayor to tell her-you would think in a small town layer would be for the people but she isn't. i hope her other clients are better represented.
the night life consist of 2 bars- but Ms. Ginney's does do good food.
The store is expensive so plan on going to Riverton or Lander for food. Most of the teachers are from Riverton-i would suggest following thier lead.
