Interesting, my source is the Wyoming Game and Fish website.

What is your book?

Is she Esther Hobart Morris, first woman justice of the peace of the world? (am guessing, since I used to go down to South Pass City, and her house is there... she's quite the heroic political figure of her time )

That is correct, your turn!

Wyoming State Capitol with statue of Esther Hobart Morris in the front. Morris was the first woman ever to serve as a judge following her appointment as Justice of the Peace in South Pass City, Wyoming, in 1870.

I could not find Zenith, but found this:

Quote:
Gov. Cliff Hansen, Wyoming, was born in Zenith (now Teton County but then Lincoln County), a settlement so small that it is no longer listed on Wyoming road maps.

That's what I found too.. and thought it was interesting that it was once in a different county. Wonder if that was really true?

I did find this -Wyoming-Zenith that lists the post office.. but does anyone know if county lines changed? and if so, when?

hmm further digging brought up this site: http://publications.newberry.org/ahcbp/documents/WY_Commentary.htm
which states:
Quote:
In 1929, the counties of Park and Teton were expanded to include all of Yellowstone Park in Wyoming, once again explicitly placing it within county jurisdiction. The last county boundary change in Wyoming occurred in 1965 when approximately six square miles of United States Forest Service land was transferred from Teton County to Lincoln County. This change is not shown on many maps, including the USGS Wyoming Base Map (1:1M scale) revised in 1980, or the ESRI Digital Chart of the World. U.S. Forest Service maps do map the boundary correctly.
Well anyway, your turn!

Yes, there have been a lot of county changes.

List of counties in Wyoming - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
There are now 23 counties in the U.S. state of Wyoming. There were originally five counties in the Wyoming Territory: Laramie and Carter, established in 1867; Carbon and Albany established in 1868; and Uinta, an annexed portion of Utah and Idaho, extending from Montana (including Yellowstone Park) to the Wyoming-Utah boundary.[1] On July 10, 1890, Wyoming was admitted to the Union with thirteen counties.[1]

hahahaha That was the Cheyenne 200. It was the 1st annual Cheyenne Race that never had a 2nd annual Race. It was the same week that the Indianaplois Race started and it did have a 2nd annual race. (and many more)

I want you to know, it took longer to find a reference then it did to answer the question. haha
