Well I just drove from Portland to Illinois and although I've driven I-80 several times in the past, was still absolutely fascinated by just how remote South-West Wyoming is. Take a look at the pictures from the space probes on mars, that is exactly how Rock Springs looked to me. An incredible desolate beauty rivaled only by the Aleutians and Northern Nevada, but I don't think I could live there long term.

That's kinda what my ex-MIL used to say when she'd come for a visit. I'd just nod, try to suppress a grin, and think to myself, "That's kinda what we figured."

Years ago, I was on a crew that built I-90. Then we were called down to Rock Springs to build Bridger.

I kind of felt like I was on Mars. hahahahahaha

Rock Springs has grown a lot. It's a nice town to live and bring up your family now.
