Sorry, have had a tragic thing happen. So I'm not thinking quite straight.

Wyoming is a great choice. I've lived in Seattle, you can keep it. I had to because of my job. But I damn sure came back to Wyoming when I was done.

No state income tax. Crap, did I say that out loud? hahaha

The taxes on my 1800 sq ft home is only $204 a year. Crap, did I say that out loud? hahahahaha

I haven't had a crime in my neighborhood in years. Crap, did I say that out loud? hahahahaha

When I got out of the Navy and come home, I told the kids, "Hey, why don't you walk down town?" They said, "Really?" I said, sure. You're safe. They did and were safe.

It's Wyoming, not Seattle. I don't know of a place that is unsafe. Will you encounter drunks, you bet. But they will be respectful and kind.

Sheridan and the Big Horns are an area that you will be welcome in and have fun in.

The only problem is finding a job or employment. www.wyomingatwork.com is the place to look. If there's something available, it will be there.

Our small house on LSF on acreage was just under $1000/yr in Park Cty.

Lots of drug related crime, very little if any auto theft. The dog in the front seat usually stops the would-be.

City police used to sit across the road from Cassie's waiting for last call - to pick up the drunks before they got into their pickups.

Crime in Wyoming is insignificant. Check the city-data statistics. It's really annoying when people who have never lived here or couldn't make it here decide to run down our home.

Yep, Seattle is a different place as opposed to when I was a kid. However, where I live about an hour outside of Seattle is pretty safe. Certainly less crime than Seattle proper. And yes, there are drunks everywhere. A fact of life, I s'pose. Thanks for the info

Run down your home? I was born there - were you? Many of stats are not current and the percentages are misleading. Going with the FBI figures more closely resemble the truth. In the last ten years crime in Park Cty has steadily climbed as a result of the meth labs springing up. On any given day you could sit in Cody's City Park and watch drug dealers ply their trade right down the street from the Courthouse and Police Station.
