Just finished reading my first Longmire book, The Cold Dish, and went back-to-back into Death Without Company! Thanks for the tip, guys. Wonder if the TV show will include Longmire's occasional allusions to literature and philosophy--I'm not sure myself if I find them mostly refreshing, or just pretentious...I'll read some more and make up my mind!

Hello, I wrote a book set in Wyoming that is of a contemporary nature. It has a soft back, but it has recently been converted to ebook format if you are interested. It is about a woman who returns home to Wyoming, but there is more to it than that. There is a murder. A bar fight. Cowboys. And some lessons about self. If you're interested, it's out there.

Since the thread has been revived, I might add that the TV series "Longmire" starts on Sunday June 3 on A&E!

Send me a PM with the name of the book. Do you or have you lived in Wyoming?

Loved the pilot "Longmire" on A & E last night so much I watched the repeat directly after. Good to see much of the book's integrity is protected in the series. Walt definitely like the character in the book.

Anybody know what state they are shooting the series in? Many parts did look like WY?

I liked the "Longmire" pilot, too. Apparently it is shot in New Mexico:

So at least it isn't Canada or Mexico!
I think they did a good job of condensing the story and introducing the characters. Looking forward to the rest.

PS Craig Johnson is on Twitter, and mentions locations:
