Sheridans a great town. I have elk and deer hunted on the east and west ends of the mountains .I got a spot off the highway that I always found a Snowshoe hare or five. With alittle walk of around a mile total. I have hunted elk sheds around the elk feeding grounds, west of ranchester. I have found gold prospecting some of the creeks around there.
Do the idiots still tear up the forest land west of sheridan. I once found the spot. It was sickening. What I saw was damage that would take maybe a couple hundred years to go back to something like origional status.
My wifes a RN and we have checked out the hospital and VA there online. I just don't like the Real Estate prices in Wyoming. I lived in the state when the bad times came and slowly went. I remember the "old" prices. Ha, ha.
But we should leave here with money to get what we want or close to it.
And Jgussler I got a 300 mag. that I can shoot elk and smaller game out to 800 yards. (and get on the ground) I been shooting it for over 16 years. I shoot silloetts at 500 meters all day long. I thought that was good until I reread your origional post.

[quote=Oh yeah, one more thing. I'm a Life Member (Benefactor level, actually) of the National Rifle Association. I highly encourage anyone that is involved in, or even just has an interest in, shooting sports, to become a member. This is the single most important thing people can do to protect their right to own and use firearms in this country. Even if you don't agree with everything the NRA prints or does, it is worth your while to belong.[/QUOTE]

Excellent! I too am a Lifer.

As to shooting inside your home. I shoot all the time. I have built a range inside the house. Makes the neighbors whisper, wondering what I'm doing. But I shoot 200-300 rounds a day. Never leave the house.

Shooting is just learning your gun. If you can get the feel of it, it don't make slap if your shooting 100, 750, 1000 yards. It's the gun and you feeling it. There's nothing like pulling, setting it down, taking a bite out of your sumbitch and then picking up the scope to see the bullet hit. Long range? That's where it's at.

Wow, this is a bump from the deep.

Anyway, add in another NRA Lifer (have been since I was 13-ish... I vividly remember getting the welcome packet in the mail, a gift from my father). Though what I shoot makes more of a "Pffft" sound than "Bang".

I'm a competitive air pistol shooter (though started with .22lr and then air rifle, won 3 state championships back in 91 and 92). About this time last year I was trying out for the US Olympic team.... didn't make it this time, but I'm determined to get to London.

My father has been training shooters since 1970-ish, starting in the Army and since moving on to Juniors. His book isn't published yet, but chock up another book to a 34 year WY resident.

Default Olympics!

What a fantastic goal!

I just started shooting again. I am moving from 100 yard to 200 yard with my .25-06. Does that count as a "real shooter"? LOL
