Hi guys!

Said I would not post again before flying out to Charlotte area in about 3 weeks but need help just one more time. Will only have a few days to visit the area so if I can narrow things down as much as possible it would be a great help. After much research have come to the conclusion that either Fort Mill/Baxter Village or towns within Union County seem to be best suited to our needs. However have heard nice things about the town of Davidson (not Davidson County) and trying to determine whether I should check out Davidson as well taking into account my time constraints.

Our Criteria:

-Can spend up to 350k
-Want good schools, both grammer and high school (of course)
-Welcoming family/friendly neighborhood ready to accept another yankee!
-Intertesting homes (ie craftsman style like that in Baxter Village)
-Don't want homes too close together
-Charming downtown (again like that of Baxter Village)

**Though I've used Baxter Village two times as examples above it doesn't mean I'm sold on just that area because I have yet to see it in person.

I know there will be some people out there who live in Davidson and are ready to provide rave reviews but I'm asking if people could take into account what we are specifically seeking out based on our criteria above and knowing that I want to spend the little time I have as efficiently as possible.

Thanks again to all!

Where will you be commuting? Davidson is quite a ways north of Charlotte, and the rush hour traffic can be tough on the I-77 corridor that far north of the city.

There is no need to cross post between the 2 forums, Charlotte has enough FM people you should be able to get your answers there.

I never really understood why this area was put here vs just having everyone from fort mill/rock hill posting in charlotte forum.

Hey again... looked up at Davidson area a number of years ago when relocating here from SoCal. The traffic going north is a BEAR !!!!!!! The area is cute, but very congested -- and if you're commuting to/from CLT going South is your best bet. You'll spend hours/day commuting to the north..
