Hello to all.
We are currently building a home in Clover, SC and haven't found any community parks/playgrounds in the limited time we've had to drive around the area. Can someone tell me where they are and which ones have the newest/safest playground equipment?
Funny you should post this. In my old home town in PA I was the chair for building our towns first handicap accessible playground. It is state of the art. A huge area with stuff for kids of all ages and abilities. I just got an email today that it won a big award the 4th for it. ANyway my point being I love playgrounds and am a nut about safe and accessible play. I have been struggling to find a play space that fits my wants. I am going to attend some of the town council meetings coming up and see if they have any funds budgeted for kids play features not just walking trails. After spending 4 years raising $400,000 and running a community build my husband does not want me to volunteer for such a large project again but if they have some funds that I could just write a few grants to aquire some additional funds I would love to design and have another great playground in this area. ANy chance you want to help ???
BTW - the fort mill web site list their parks on it. I still cannot find anyone who has been to the steele creek park but I would like to go see it.
I haven't been to the Steele Creek park in maybe a year or two but when I went I really liked it. The play area wasn't huge but there was lots of room for running around and it had good walking trails. It was clean and well kept.
It is off of hwy 160, just a few miles over the border in NC. I can't remember if it is just before or just after the new Steele Creek Library but it is close to there I believe.

Thanks, I was always assuming it was in SC in Fort mIll because it is on their web site. That could have been my problem.
