I'm in the process of purchasing a home in Sherham West community. It is not in the city, it is in York county. It has septic tank and well water. Short of burning my trash or placing it in the dumpster at work (my boss would probably not let this happen very long) where do the folks in the country take their trash?

You are about 4 miles from Adnah Church Road and Eastview Rd ... I think. On the Corner of Adnah Church Road and Hwy 5 (W Main St.) is a Convenience Center. You can dump your trash there.

Actually you can use any of the Convenience Centers.

Our Convenience Centers are open daily 7 AM to 7 PM except Wednesday and Sunday.

Collection & Recycling Centers (http://www.yorkcountygov.com/Departments/DepartmentsFP/PublicWorks/Divisions/SolidWasteCollectionandRecycling/CollectionRecyclingCenters.aspx - broken link)

The YC website has answers to most of your questions.

Welcome to York County ... you were wise to buy in the county.

I love being able to use the transfer station. I get garbage pickup weekly, but its nice to recycle and throw out my items that arent 'household trash" somewhere. Back home, we had to pay big bucks to throw stuff out.
