Ive driven by here a bunch of times, but just noticed a abandon shopping center and maybe an old Wendys just after you cross the bridge into lake Wylie (from North Carolina). Can anyone tell me more about it?

The building at the shopping center entrance was a McDonalds. There was a Dairy Queen on the property next store, going toward the bridge.

The Food Lion had competition from Harris Teeter, which was in the next shopping center going away from the bridge.

Mc Donalds moved into the new shopping center (Lowes, Walmart, etc.). In addition to the McDonalds move Bank of America and Wachovia who were located adjacent to MacDonalds also moved to the new shopping center. It appears the old shopping area you asked about has been sold and there are a number of proposed tenants after a renovation.
