We are coming from las vegas with Trader Joes, Whole Foods and Wild Oats? Are there any stores like that back East? Is Organic food big back East? How about any restaurants that serve organic? I see talk alot about the strawberries and peaches at the farmers market, I can't wait.

Yes, there are several in the Charlotte area. I believe a Trader Joe's is planned in southern Charlotte -- I don't know when they are going to open one.

There are several in the Charlotte area that you can go to:
http://www.earthfare.com
http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com (few in NC, but none in the Charlotte area).
http://www.thefreshmarket.com
http://local.yahoo.com/NC/Charlotte/...+Organic+Foods (list of stores in that area).

I live in Tega Cay (right next door to Fort Mill...we also share zip codes). Currently Tega Cay does not have any sort of businesses (other than the Golf Club) so all of our shopping and dining out is done in Fort Mill (or elsewhere). The same holds as far as schools...all children in Tega Cay are within the Fort Mill School District (unless they choose private schooling or homeschooling).

There will be a Trader Joe's opening in 2007 in Charlotte (in the Piper Glen area - off Rea Rd)

There is an Earth Fare store in the Ballantyne area (off Johnston Rd and the 485)

Not sure where your located at now but I have mentioned a few smaller places there are around here locally (Fort Mill)....see my post above
