My wife and I were talking the other day and we realized that we never hear about locally owned doughnut shops/bakeries in the area . It is not just a Rock Hill thing either. It doesn't seem Charlotte has a lot either. Are we just missing them, or are they not big in the South?
No one in their right minds want to compete with Krispy Kreme. When you can buy a sweet taste of heaven for just a few coins, why would anyone shop elsewhere?

Not everyone wants donuts that are loaded with crap.
...You'll notice they omit trans fat from their nutrition facts. I wonder why...
Details, details... You want to live forever? I've eaten 'em in moderation for over 40 years. Enjoyed every bite. If you take away all the good things in life, what's left?

I attended a wedding recently and Carswell Bakery supplied the wedding cake. It was delicious. I've never been there. They are located on Mt Gallant Rd in Rock Hill.

I can tell ... you ain't from 'round here are you ... bless your heart! Nothing could be finer than Krispy Kreme .... and even better when they turn the "Hot Light" on!
Just thinking of Krispy Kreme donuts makes me want to hurl. I'm a sugar junkie, but they are the worst donuts ever. They coat your mouth with grease that sticks all day. But I'm not here to yuck on anyone else's yum. To each their own. I do miss the mom n' pop bakeries. I guess if you've never had donuts from them, then you just don't know. But I've really got nothing to complain about. So I can't have a good donut. There's more to life.
