No insurance.
Where to go for the lowest cost flu shot?

I'm guessing the Health Dept. on Heckle Blvd. (?)

The Health Department does give the flu shots ... call them. It seems to me everyone is giving flu shots Walgreen's, CVS, Walmart, grocery stores but the health dept may be your best deal. I don't do flu shots but I do keep my pneumonia shot up to day.

I rarely get a cold. I hate them. I have non allergic rhinitus, so my colds are bad.
I think what I do, prevents colds.
I take an aspirin every other day, a flu shot every year, and 500 MG of Vitamin C every day. When I feel a cold coming on (and mine usually start with a minor sore throat), I immediately take 4000 MG (8 tablets) of Vitamin C and it seems to reduce the symptoms greatly.

I called the Health Dept.
If you have no insurance, it is $25.00.

Harris Teeter is closer to me and cheaper. ($23.99)

Anyone else know a lower cost?

Harris Teeter website says $24.99. I thought I saw $23.99 on a sign at my store.
Bi-Lo is $27.00.
CVS is $29.99 but you get a $5.00 store gift card.
Walmart does not quote the cost on their site.

Call Palmetto Volunteers in Medicine on Herlong and see if they give the flu shots for free.

I just came across this on yahoo today:

Free Flu Shots
CVS Caremark, in a partnership with Direct Relief USA, has announced it will be continuing its free flu shot program this year for community clinic and health center patients who don't have health insurance. Here's the list of participating clinics and health centers where you can obtain your free flu shot voucher.
Check with your local hospital or health department for other ways to obtain a free flu shot. For example, the Kansas City Missouri Health Department recently began offering free flu shots for children ages 2 through 18 who do not have insurance or whose insurance does not cover flu vaccinations.

I hope this helps!

I'll check them out, as well as Palmetto volunteers.

I will also check at North Central Family Medical in Rock Hill.

From CVS Caremark, there is only one location within 30 miles of me, but it will be worth the trip.
Well, it sounds like with CVS Caremark you may go to the clinic, get the voucher and then use it at your local CVS (?)

I have an appointment with Caremark for Saturday the 15th. We'll see how it goes. I assume I'll be getting the regular flu shot and not the higher dose one. There are two types, if I remember correctly.

North Central Family Medical has a sliding scale which I have been on.
I have to update my file, but the two lowest levels are A and B. The charges are $25 for A, and $40 for B.
It is an official appointment with your doctor (or a doctor) and the flu shot is included.
So, the flu shot there is $25, or $40, or higher, since you can not just walk in, and pay for, and get the shot.
