Hello,
I'll be moving over to the NC border right by Rock Hill. Is there anything fun to do in Rock Hill? (I'm in mid twenties and don't drink anymore). Any good hangout places (like coffee shops) or places to work? Thanks.

Are you into sports?
The Rock Hill Parks & Recreation Dept has Adult Softball at Cherry Park. They also have Adult Soccer. The YMCA has Adult Basketball and swimming. In addition we have the new Giordana Velodrome if you are into cycling.

We have a Rock Hill Disc Golf group.

We do have a Starbucks. LOL That is the only coffee shop I know about. Someone else may be able to provide other hangout places.
Are you relocating here without a job? York County's Unemployment percent in April 2012 was 10.1%. They don't have the numbers yet for May. Of course you may find work in Charlotte.

I will see if I can get your post moved to the Rock Hill forum and perhaps you will receive more ideas. Best wishes with your relocation.

Lell's has turned itself into a coffeehouse in the evening on Friday and Saturday night. Although, I have not been there I hear the food and pastries are out of this world. They are a true community supported business where you can buy into the restaurant and receive benefits from your contribution. She also only uses local produce and meats. I'm trying to get over there as soon as I can. )

Baxter Village is right up the road in Fort Mill, and might be more your style. Forget the mall, its a dud. The shopping center on the other side of the highway is nice and has a lot to offer. Ive been told Riverwalk is quite nice.

Fun Things to do In Rock Hill
Go to www.heraldonline.com and read the Entertainment section. It's under the Living tab. Look on the right at the Calendar.
It also comes out in print on Friday's, which I prefer.
There are a lot of things to do that are on the calendar, depends on what you are into.
There is Ebenezer Park for boating, swimming and fishing. Riverwalk for kayaking walking.
Manchester Field and Cherry Park have sporting events.
You can rent boats at the Tega Cay Marina.
Panera Bread is a great WiFi hangout and it's close to the theater.
Or, you can go the Wal-mart or Galleria Mall on Dave Lyle and people watch. That's really fun!!!

Honestly, I lived in Rock Hill while attending college at Winthrop and have sworn I would never move back. I love Fort Mill and having the easy access to Charlotte, whereas I found there just wasn't that much to do in Rock Hill other than drink at the local bars. Have you looked into Ft. Mill?
