I just spoke to someone at Time Warner Cable and they said service is now available for the homes around The Paddock Apartments and Springfield (Zip 29715). This includes cable tv, high speed internet and phone. I was always told that Comporium has the monopoly on this town. Could it be true we could have a choice? Don't want to get my hopes up. Anyone here used Time Warner? Thanks.

While I don't want to be Debbie Downer my vote is to tell you that you shouldn't get your hopes up. I could be wrong but it seems that TW has a habit of telling people on the phone that they do handle FM....but then POOF...when push comes to shove they don't show up.

If Time Warner has a habit of telling people they can serve an area and then they don't show up, why would anyone want to deal with them?

I could be mistaken but don't you live in Indian Land?

There is no dispute that TW and Comporium are both available in areas of Indian Land but the OP was asking about Fort Mill (zip code 29715).

My Sister is in 29715 and she switched to TW. I think one of the things she did not like if I am not mistaken was that with comporium she could not get local news. The news she had was from Columbia. She switched a while ago.

The local channels that Comporium carries for news in Fort Mill (29715) are out of Charlotte. They use to have 2 different CBS stations; one was Charlotte local and one was if I remember correctly either out of Greenville SC or Columbia SC. But they have always carried the local Charlotte channels (ABC, CBS, NBC & Fox) for the past 16 years.

So I'm not sure how your sister was stating that she was not getting the local news.

Psy

FYI - Time Warner doesn't even know what areas it serves. They told me they "weren't sure" if service was in this area and will do a "site survey" and get back to me. I'm thinking that's a big NO. Sigh.
