The last 2 months my gas bill has been approx $100 per month on a 1700 sg ft townhome. According to my bill I used 64 therms (whatever that is). My wife and I usually leave the house at about 65 degrees. Does anyone know if thats a reasonable amount or is my heating system inefficient?? It seems a little expensive to me. The gas bill is strictly heat...I have electric hot water and no fireplace. Any ideas??

I don't know how much of my bill was for the water heater, it would be interesting to know that. I paid $207 for 150 therms at 1.36 per therm for 2400 square foot home. I don't use the gas fireplace.

Natural gas prices are higher and will continue to be so just like oil most likely.

We have York County gas and our most recent bill was $148.35 for 110 therms. Our house has 2,424 square feet. Having seperate thermostats for the upstairs and downstairs helps us.

We have LCNGA for our hot water heater only. Our bill from 1/16-2/15 is $38.08. It says we used 25 therms.

That's about right. We have our heat in York County on 73 at night (my fiance is on blood thinners which make her cold) and for 1100 square feet and a gas water heater, it's about $100 or a little more. I am not sure how many therms our last two bills have been. Are you in an end unit? That would actually require more heat too. Middle units don't take as much of the outside air inside since they are connected on two sides.
