Owner-Builder custom home builder in area? (Rock Hill, Fort Mill: construction, contractor, inspection)

We are looking for a small custom home builder/contractor to work with us in building our new home on 5 acres in the Indian Land area. This builder can build the shell and we would finish most of the rest. My husband is an engineer who is more than capable of doing the electrical, plumbing, flooring, etc. as we've done it with 2 homes prior-just in different states. We are tired of big builders, stamped out subdivisions, shoddy workmanship and corners that are continually cut. We've looked at many model homes and see all of the flaws in both design and workmanship as well as overinflated prices for minor design features. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality work and will allow owner involvement. Since this is our 4th custom home that we are building, we are very familiar with all the requirements, etc. We already have a custom designed plan.

Can anyone point us to someone? or make suggestions of who may consider working with us?

We used CRK Construction for our home addition a couple years ago and they did a great job. The owner, Chad, had a background in homebuilding with a big shop many years ago before going out on his own, and he and his crew do quality work. We hired him based on the work he did for a friend of ours (a very extensive home addition), and have since referred him to many people who have also been happy with his work. He's based in the Fort Mill/Rock Hill area.

The only thing to note: he's very slow to return emails, but does answer his phone and voicemails in a more timely manner.

My husband is a licensed GC, and an engineer, he owns a residential construction company.

We're also not happy with the way new homes are being constructed. We walk around a lot of homes under construction and are completely dumbfounded as how they can pass inspection.
