I've traveled through s.c. many times and I'm from alabama. I'm thinking of moving to s.c. and looking at the ft mill area. I am a hairdresser and I'm interested in knowing what corporate type salons are located in the area or close by and what is the average cost of living. Any responses are helpful.

Great Clips
Sports Clips
Dolce Lusso
Pigtails & Crewcuts (kid salon)

Those are four "franchise" salons (if that's what you mean by "corporate" type salons) in and around Fort Mill. Then there are plenty of one-off hair salons all over Charlotte metro area.

For a hairdresser, I would think the cost of living in Fort Mill might be a little expensive, but I'm not sure what the average hairdresser earns. Maybe $25K/year? You'd be hard pressed to have a good quality of life earning that and living in Fort Mill (rents for a one bedroom apartment start at $900/month).
