Hello all!

I recently accepted a job offer in Charlotte, and will be working in the South Park area.

Since I don't have children, I'm not concerned about schools, but I am concerned about getting the most bang for my buck in the housing market. Is this gonna happen in the Fort Mill area? Or would I fare better home shopping in Charlotte.

A secondary concern is traffic getting into the South Park area.

My budget is $450K, but I would prefer to spend the least possible to preserve cash.

Thanks everyone!

Although you may not have kids, the schools will impact your growth of your property value, something to consider.

If you desire it to get the nicest/biggest home for you dollar, I would suggest areas of west Charlotte outside 485 like Berwick, Palisades, the Sanctuary or the yet to be name development at Dixie river. Another option would be the Mint Hill area. Berwick or Dixie River would be the best commute to South Park.

In Fort Mill, you are paying for the schools. The commute would be 30-45 minutes depending on when you leave.

Thanks for the advice; it's very helpful.
