Constituents in the Indian Land community in Lancaster County, South Carolina, have the opportunity to vote today for Indian Land to incorporate as a town or for it to remain unincorporated.

If incorporation is voted against, Indian Land would remain as is.

If incorporation is voted for, what would be next in the process for the Town of Indian Land's incorporation?

The town of Indian Land is more closely associated as a suburb of Charlotte rather than affiliated with the town of Lancaster in the southern portion of the county. Proponents seek more services from the county such as roads and infrastructure, but opponents object to higher taxes.

But I think the proponents argue the services offered by Lancaster County are too limited and the Charlotte suburbs are largely ignored by the rest of Lancaster County.

What services offered and provided by Lancaster County would be considered limited?

Reading several reports, constituents have voted against Indian Land incorporating into a town.
