Hello, we will be relocating to the area in the next 6mo's and my spouse will be working off I77 in Fort Mill. We have visited the area several times and are really drawn to Tega Cay, specifically the Lake Shore n'hood. There seems to be a mix of townhouses/single family homes, retirees and young families but I can't get a true sense of the community. Do they offer planned activities and events? Any mom/kid groups? I have seen kids playing everywhere and lots of people at the playgrounds but the adults seem to keep to themselves. Is the pool just for the n'hood or does the entire Tega Cay area have access? It feels like a very large yet separated area so it's hard to understand the dynamics. We will be moving from an older established n'hood with very few younger families and kids so we are looking for a much needed change with younger families and have a 9 and 3 yr old and an infant.

I could answer with a lot of assumptions, but I don't live in Lake Shore so I don't know much about it.

Tons of kids = it will be easy for your children to make friends and you will likely meet a lot of moms over the course of your time there as a result.

If it is like a lot of other communities in TC/FM, then there will likely be community activities throughout the year, as well as mom groups, book clubs and other stuff. If there isn't, you can always start one and will probably get some interest. That's what my neighborhood does - if someone wants to start a club, they do, and post on our neighborhood's FB page to invite people and get it going.

Just doing a very quick search online, I found that they have some sort of Facebook page if you want to go ask questions there, although the page doesn't seem too actively used.

The beach and swim center appears to be open to all of Tega CAy, with membership fees to get in.
