My husband was hoping to purchase a home this weekend but has left our check book in Maine!!! Can they except money orders for earnest money?
Help! I just checked the rates to same day a check to him and it is $170!!!
I would like to avoid this if possible.

I have used the following in some cases. On the earnest money portion of the contract I wrote in a small earnest money deposit (100-500 dollars) to be increased to (usually 1% of the purchase price) within 48 hours of seller acceptance. I never had a problem.

Your agent can note in the contract you will provide earnest money on acceptance of the offer. You may also use cash and or money order.
