Ah, but we can't have Piedmont actually competing! Just read this from 2014:

https://www.heraldonline.com/news/lo...e12317831.html

"A Fort Mill hospital operated by Carolinas HealthCare System would erode the quality of health care in York County, especially for specialty services, says an S.C. Administrative Law Court judge."

"During the trial before the Adminstrative Law Court in the spring of 2013, Piedmont officials and physicians affiliated with the hospital argued that a hospital run by CHS would affect the quality of care they and Piedmont offer. A continued loss of patients would affect surgeons’ skills and Piedmont could close some of its of specialty services, physicians and Masterton testified."

So I said it then, and I say it now... if you think everyone is going to leave your hospital for the other one, then maybe you should address the reasons nobody wants to go to you in the first place.

Piedmont is subpar healthcare. We live close to there and opt for CMC Pineville every time. If CMC has the money and is a proven better provider for the patent population then they should win the deal. Healthcare is the most corrupt BUSINESS in the US.

I heard recently piedmont replaced most of the executives in the hospital, new CEO, CMO, CNO etc... maybe this would be a good thing and Piedmont will improve?

A large number of different groups grade hospitals online. Leapfrog published their 2018 fall grades recently. I do not know how they arrived at the grades but the local RH newspaper was proud of the "A" PMC received.

I do know if any doc ever says the "C" word to me I am heading straight to MD Anderson in Houston or Sloan Kettering.
