I guess the fat lady is singing, according to the announcement Piedmont Medical Center will build the Fort Mill Hospital.

The SC Supreme Court now lists the issue as concluded after denying an appeal from what is now Atrium Health, formerly CMC.

No comment yet from Atrium I don't think they would appeal the SCSC decision going to federal court of appeals but who knows. They may take it all the way.

Sounds like it is now done. Supreme Court didn’t even take the case, the appeal was denied.
Can you even appeal to a federal court if the state Supreme Court denied the case entirely?

Well hopefully they just build the hospital already, it’s been too long

I don't know legally if Atrium has further options. Both groups have probably spent millions of dollars in attorney fees over all the years this has been going back and forth.

"PMC plans are to build the hospital they applied to build, not a bigger one to meet increased growth demand since that initial application." I assume this means they building what they applied to build 15 years ago. PMC will generate tax dollars split between the schools, city and county governments.

The area keeps growing...I wish the state would let both build. I can't see the u.s. supreme Court ever looking at this.. It is a state issue. I'll never set foot in piedmont's new hospital if I can go to Pineville

I agree that at this point (considering our growth since this whole thing started) they should both get to build and let the marketplace do its thing.

PMC still gives its money to York County, and residents still go to Atrium for better healthcare treatment.
