This thread is about the future former Sheriff of Chester county, Alex Underwood, who seems to be at the start of a long legal process. He's been removed from the job and replaced by an interim. He joins a long line of South Carolina sheriffs who have, as they say, fallen from grace.

Underwood was indicted last week for an odd situation where a man was arrested for recording the aftermath of a police chase that ended in a wreck in a man hunt, all from his property. Underwood ordered the man, Kevin Simpson, to get on his porch, which Simpson did but then yelled "manhunt." This started a string of events that led to Simpson's arrest on "disorderly conduct and resisting arrest."

Turns out that Simpson wsa sharing what was happening on Facebook which, incidentally, is what I would have been doing. When Underwood and a few of his deputies found out, they concocted some poppycock story that one of their radios were missing. They did not seem to understand how Facebook Live works. I think they thought if they found his phone, they could delete the footage off of Facebook
Quote:
During the search, they found Simpson’s cellphone and illegally confiscated it, the indictments said. Underwood and Sprouse later tampered with the phone to destroy or “impair its integrity or availability” in a federal investigation, the indictments said.

I do believe this is the same fine man who picked a fight with fire fighters who were doing their job, and then arrested them
