My wife and I are considering retiring to South Carolina possible around Lake Wylie. Can anyone tell me what areas of the Lake Wylie area would be prone to flooding? Thanks!

I couldn't tell you much but wanted to pass along some resources which may help:

FEMA flood maps, but since the lake level is controlled by a dam on the Southeast end I'm not sure what they account for in regards to top of the dam water level potential or not and therefore what the true potential for flooding is or not, and likely doesn't account for upstream dam failure possibilities but just an assumption. I would advise looking into it more:

And the height controlled by the dam is operated by Duke Energy and information on current levels can be found here:
