What advice would you give to a single 30-something mother of an elm. school aged child, who is considering a move from a some-what small town in north Florida to Heath Springs SC?

Thanks.

I love Heath Springs. It's a very small town which could be a pro or a con depending on your tastes. Heath Springs Elementary seems to be a good school from what I now about it. It feeds into AJ High School.

There are a few small store in town. including one called Small's. There is also a Dollar General in town. You'd probably pick up a few things here and there and do your main grocery shopping in Lancaster where they have a Walmart, two Food Lions and two IGAs. The Walmart is a super store. There is sometimes a place to eat on the main drag through town. I say sometimes because it seems to open and close a lot.

One point of contention in Heath Springs is the train which not only passes through town, but also stops to work a major contract right on the main road through town. I would suggest finding a place on the same side of the tracks s the school you'd be tsking your child to because sometimes the train is there in the morning and sometimes it's there in the afternoon

Another point of contention is that the northern part of Lancaster sees all the money from county council as it is growing leaps and bounds in part due to be close to Charlotte. I'd actuslly consider this a plus, but no doubt the Heath Springs and Kershaw area could see a little more money coming in for some things.

Lancaster (the city) in my hometown. If I moved back to the area, I'd love to live in the Heath Springs/Kershaw area. But then I like trains, LOL

As for being a 30-something single woman, pickings might be slim in the available men department. If you're the church going type, I might suggest finding a bigger church in Lancaster where there may be some single guys around.
